 World

    The world of Houshin Engi is vast, but centered around ancient China. Expanding further, the cast primarily consists of the Sennin from Mnt. Kunlun, and the Youkai Sennin from Kingou Island. Their presence is the human world is problematic, with a clear difference in strength that sets them higher on the food chain than the humans themselves. This plays a continued role throughout the series, and much of the Houshin Project is pondering the effect that their presence may have in the history of human beings.
